Western Sahara: Mauritania is at its official position of strict neutrality (Ould Abdelaziz)
In an interview with Channel Medi 1 Sat, President Mauritania Mohamed Ould Abdelaziz, expressed his hope that the construction of the Great Arab Maghreb peoples aspire to the region in a climate of peace, security and prosperity.
In his dream will be realized by North African peoples themselves, while affirming its desire that the changes to Tunisia and Libya can contribute to strengthening the Arab Maghreb Union.
In the Western Sahara issue, he indicated that the Mauritania is at its official position of strict neutrality while noting that the country is now in negotiations for the settlement of the Sahara conflict under the auspices of the United Nations.

Regarding the presence of a representative of the Polisario Front in the Mauritanian capital, the President Aziz stressed that it is through the press that he learned this information.
The President said that political dialogue is progressing and that trust is restored between the different actors policies of the country. In this context he noted that efforts have been made to ensure that Mauritania can be found all around the same table and discuss. He acknowledged that the country faced economic difficulties due to some particular unemployment and poverty, believing that the government is working to improve this situation. Finally, he stressed the need to adapt training to the real needs of the labor market because the country has fisheries, mining, and this requires the availability of skills for a more rational management of natural resources.
