Framework documento: The economic interests in Western Sahara

Image
We study the economic interests -oil, phosphate and fishing- in Western Sahara. We analyze the use of resources during the Spanish colony and how was transferred to Morocco. The exploitation of natural resource in Non-Self Governing Territories has important limitations imposed by international law. Finally, we study the impact of these economic activities, with its peculiarities, for the Spanish interests. Espionage against Christopher Ross: The Criminal Act of Morocco

Image
The recently released confidential documents reveal the methods used by Morocco in Geneva to spy on the UN special envoy to Western Sahara, Christopher Ross, scuttling any initiative in favor of the Polisario in UN institutions in Switzerland. This work done by spook Omar Hilale, Morocco's ambassador in Swiss land, lasted two years. In a confidential letter dated April 11, 2012, the Moroccan Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Permanent Mission of the Kingdom of Morocco in Geneva, namely Omar Hilale, had alerted King Mohammed VI of a "maneuver" perpetrated by the UN special envoy Christopher Ross to force the Moroccan kingdom to accept the UN plan for Western Sahara. "A maneuver of Christopher Ross to replace the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General for Western Sahara is in preparation," he writes. The Moroccan ambassador in Geneva had been spying on the special UN envoy for the Western Sahara, even getting confidential i...

Lamamra denounces Moroccan verbal escalation

Image
Algerian Foreign Minister, Ramtane Lamamra, described on Thursday in Algiers the verbal escalation of Morocco with regard to Algeria, following a recent incident at the border between the two countries, as "bad strategy of tension". "The view of Algeria (on the incident) was said and we stick to that. The rest is a bad strategy of escalation, poor strategy of tension, a headlong rush that serves neither the interests of neighborhood nor the interests of any other country," the minister said on the sideline of his meeting with the Minister of foreign Affairs of Senegal, Ndiaye Mankeur. "I would just say that Algeria has had its say on this issue and I reiterate this position. Algeria is not responsible for injuries that were inflicted on a person on the Moroccan side of the border," Lamamra said in response to reporters' questions on the subject. Algeria had already dismissed the "misleading" presentation by the Moroccan side o...

Remember November 1, 1954, the beginning of the revolution in Algeria

Image
During the period between 1830 and 1962, France practiced brutal racial extermination in Algeria, which led to the killing of 5 million innocent civilians, yes 5 million.  Not many people in this world know about this fact because the hypocrite French government, which claims human rights and freedom, doesn’t want you to know about their real ugly face.  Because if you know and the world knows then they would be forced to admit their war crimes and apologize to Algeria.  Watch this rare video containing real pictures and discover the truth by yourself. http://mohsenabdelmoumen.wordpress.com/2014/10/30/remember-november-1-1954-the-beginning-of-the-revolution-in-algeria/

"Moroccan secret services bribe journalists"

Image
Published in the journal LA RAZÓN, Lima-Perú, October 28, 2014 "Moroccan secret services bribe journalists"  by Ricardo Sanchez Serra The hacker "@Chris_Coleman24" have caused a general indignation by revealing the bribery of American, British and french journalists by Moroccan secret services on his twitter account under the same name. In classified Moroccan intelligence documents it is stated that Ahmed Charai was the liaison agent and the money provider to the media and the journalists. An excellent synthesis done by the prestigious Spanish lawyer Carlos Ruiz Miguel on his blog "Desde el Atlántico" (From the Atlantic) " http://blogs.periodistadigital.com/desdeelatlantico.php )", taking "Coleman" as a source, points out that Charai was recruiting on the behalf of the DGED, the secret service external branch of Morocco. The journalists are Richard Miniter and Joseph Braude, who in their "analysis...

Disgraceful corruption at the HCHR office in Geneva

Image
After the publication of the report of the UN Secretary General on Western Sahara in 2014, Morocco immediately conducted a change of its permanent representative to the UN Mohamed Loulikchi by the holder of the position of Ambassador, the permanent representative to the UN in Geneva since 2008, Omar Hilale. The unpacked secret documents within the scope of Morocco WikiLeaks have clarified the causes behind the appointment of Omar Hilale in New York. Thanks to these documents, we know now that his methods of corruption are despicable. In Geneva, he managed to recruit the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Navi Pillay, in the interests of Morocco.  In a note sent by Ambassador Hilale to his central bureau dated February 1st, he stresses that he was informed via the intermediary of his trustee and "friend," Anders Kompass, Director of Field Operations of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, that Mss. Pillay had given instructions to his representa...

The Magic Western Sahara: Stay North of the Berm, Young Man (Travel)

Image
Travel to North Africa brings the tourist face to face with unique customs and heritage from its diverse array of inhabitants. In this report from world-traveller Richard Hand, we learn about obscure Western Sahara and its tumultuous existence. Tug of War The status and politics of Western Sahara have been contested and unstable almost since the end of WWII when this previous Spanish colony was relinquished from its control by the mother country. Its fate is still ponderous and uncertain with friction coming from Morocco with its claim of interest, Algeria to the northeast that identifies itself with a large component of the area’s population (Sahrawi, of Bedouin descent), and the country’s internal movement, the Polisario Front, that seeks independence for this area it calls Sahrawi. The area controlled by the Polisario borders directly on Algeria and Mauritania and is known as the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) with its provisional capital at Bir Lehlou. Mind ...

Troubled waters off Western Sahara: Glencore plans to drill in occupied territory

Image
A subsidiary of Glencore has been awarded two petroleum exploration licences off the coast of Western Sahara. The two concessions granted by the occupying power, Morocco, undermine the ongoing UN peace process. If the Swiss commodities giant proceeds with its exploration activities against the wishes of the local population, it will do so in violation of international legal principles. Zurich/Lausanne, 27th October 2014 In 2013 and 2014, the Moroccan authorities awarded Glencore Production and Exploration (Morocco) Ltd. the drilling permits for two offshore blocks, Foum Ognit and Boujdour Shallow. According to a presentation given by the Zug-based company, the two blocks are located within Moroccan territory. This information is incorrect: the blocks in fact belong to Western Sahara, a country under Moroccan occupation since the colonising power Spain’s departure in 1976. Today, half the Sahrawi population live in refugee camps in Algeria. As long as Morocco is able to pro...

State Department warns US businesses in North Africa of ISIS retaliation

Image
The State Department is warning American businesses operating in North Africa of an increased risk of retaliation by militants over the U.S. military campaign against the Islamic State. The warning, which is specific to Morocco, is contained in an Oct. 7 dispatch -- obtained by Fox News -- from the Bureau of Diplomatic Security and its Overseas Security Advisory Council. While no specific plot or credible intelligence is cited, the message warns that: "As the U.S. Government extends its anti-ISIL efforts, there is a heightened risk that U.S. private sector and civilian interests may be targeted." The report with the subject line, "ISIL Outside Iraq and Syria: Morocco," also warns that the North African nation now has one of the largest contingents of foreign fighters -- between 1,500 and 2,000 -- in Syria and Iraq. The report underscores the reach of the Islamic State, and ties among its members to other countries, as U.S. jets pound ISIS position...

Morocco/USA: The stakes of a spurious lobbyism

Image
Khalil Asmar The revelations of Chris Coleman don’t seem to let any details escape away. The Moroccan Snowden has unveiled the shadowy zones that cover the lobbying taking place in the land of uncle Sam, the United States of America. Following the publication of one of his confidential documents, the curse has fallen this time on the head of the Moroccan American Center (MAC). The indiscretion was committed by Chris Coleman on DROPOX site and then relayed through his twitter account. Caught in its own trap, the center hectically sent an email to claim property rights, forcing the DROPOX site to delete the document. Story of a disguised lobbying: Morocco plunged into the world of lobbying through organization carrying anodyne names, such as the ‘Moroccan American Cultural Center’, ‘Moroccan American Trade and Investment Council’, and the ‘Moroccan American Center for Policy’ but in effect, they are no more than offshoots of the Moroccan American Center (MAC). While pret...

Sahara Occidental : Le jeu trouble de Thione Niang

Image
