Ms. Haidar wins the Rene Cassin Award

The Basque regional government has awarded the Rene Cassin of human rights in the Sahrawi activist Aminatou Haidar for his commitment to the promotion of human rights in Western Sahara occupied by Morocco .

 Ms. Haidar, president of the Collective of Sahrawi Human Rights Defenders (CODESA) participated in several actions, including a hunger strike for 32 days at the airport Lanzorate (Canary Islands) to denounce the Moroccan repression in the occupied Saharawi territories and assert the independence of Western Sahara.
