Belaouar acquired weapons from Libya financed by Morocco and France

According to statements by a member of the terrorist group led by Mokhtar Belmokhtar, alias Khaled Abul Abbas, the latter who is, along with another group led by "B. M.," aka Lamine, in Mali, in the region of "Tagherghar"; he would have received three attractive financing proposals in recent months after the outbreak of the revolt in Libya.

The proposed funding came from France, Morocco and Libyan parties whose identities were not disclosed, according to statements of the terrorist who confirms being informed by Belmokhtar and Lamine in person.

The terrorist "N. M. H." who was interviewed along with five of his associates, from the group led by Abul Abbas and the terrorist Lamine, said that the latter two informed him during a meeting, about the proposals made by the French, Moroccan and Libyan parties.

The accused said he had met with them in person at the beginning of January, date of start of work with them on his return after his surrender. He participated in meetings, according to him, in which agenda turns around money and funding of the organization, kidnappings and plans to acquire weapons and explosives; things they considered very important, in addition to smuggling.

Belmokhtar have given instructions to his elements so that they make efforts to kidnap the largest possible number of foreigners who work in oil in southern regions and this, in order to ask for ransom and at the same time put pressure on the Algerian authorities for the release of prisoners, like Abderrezak El Para, the former emir of the southern region.

The other defendants have asserted, during questioning, that many terrorists of different nationalities had joined the Belmokhtar’s group, these are Tunisians, Mauritanians and Malian Touareg. These often changed their places of settlement between El Khalil and Tagherghar in Mali, adding that the majority of them had joined the group during the last six months, following the communiqué of the national emir of the terrorist organization Abdelmalek Droukdel.

Belmokhtar and Lamine, according to the accused, had not disclosed the sum of the proposals made by France, Morocco and Libya to the terrorist groups, who have recently begun their contacts in order to conclude the market in Algerian territory, with the help of cigarette smugglers who work at the borders between Algeria and Mali.
